Overview

We just started working on soliciting gifts.  If you'd like to support one of our activities, or suggest one that's missing, please click & complete on our Online Gift form. Your gifts are tax-deductible, and may be matched by your employer.  

As you can see, we're duplicating what private schools have had for years, and for the same good causes. Please chip in and help us continue the Yorktown tradition of Excellence. We've provide the mechanism, now its up to you to join in and give back to the Yorktown community.

We gratefully acknowledge the following charitable donations made since we we commenced operations:

DISPLAY CASES

  • Bernie Kirchner YHS 70 

Contribution of  contribution of between $100 and $500 as seed money for Display Cases for Yorktown.  These funds are Permanently Restricted and will only be used for this purpose. Donated in 2001.

OPERATIONS

  • Class of 1972 

    • After it's highly successful 25th Reunion, the Class of 1972 contributed between $500 and $1,000  to fund the start up of The Alumni & Friends of Yorktown High School, Inc.  We are all indebted to the generosity, civic mindedness, and vision of our colleagues from YHS72, and especially Marie-Anne STARN Lillis and Kim McHUGH Arthurs who have worked so tirelessly to make this vision a reality. Donation made in 1997.

  • An unrestricted contribution of between $51 and $100 provided to support the Corporation during Start-Up by Kim McHUGH Arthurs in 1998.

  • Class of 1971 

An unrestricted contributions of from $1 to $50 given as part of the Class of 1971's 30th Reunion, listed by date of contribution in 2001:

Mac Brown - An unrestricted contribution of between $100 and $500 provided to support the Corporation during Start-Up by Milton "Mac" Brown, III. Donated in 2000.

Annual Merit Scholarship Fund

  • Class of 1971 - A permanently restricted contribution of between $100 and $500 from 30th Reunion Proceeds.  Contribution made in 2001.

Endowed Merit Scholarship Fund

  • Class of 1971 - A permanently restricted contribution of between $100 and $500 from 30th Reunion Proceeds.  Contribution made in 2001.

    Katherine Oser 

Our first match gift,  matched dollar for dollar by Katherine's firm - the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network through our Corporate Gift Matching Program - effectively doubling her support. These funds are Permanently Restricted for this purpose. Donation in 2001, Match in 2002.

ENDOWMENTS

Crew Equipment Endowment

  • Unrestricted contribution of between $1,000 and $5,000 provided in appreciation of an Anonymous Member by the George Mason High School Athletic Boosters Association.  Gift made in 2001.

  • Memorial in Memory of Edith Carolyn Burroughs YHS 88, a permanently restricted gift of between $50 and $100 from Katherine and Ralph Oser - Friends. Gift made in 2002.
