Doris C. Andress
Doris C. Andress, 84, who taught French and Latin at Yorktown High School in the 1960s and worked as a real estate agent for Long & Foster in the 1980s, died Nov. 5 at her Arlington home. She had Parkinson's disease. Mrs. Andress, who had lived in the Washington area since 1942, was born in Philadelphia and raised in Ardmore, Pa. She was a graduate of Grove City College.She was a member of Little Falls Presbyterian Church in Arlington. She volunteered as a poll worker in Arlington and with the Hospice of Northern Virginia. Her husband of 49 years, Frank Andress, died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Donald F. Andress YHS 68 of Vienna and Lawrence C. Andress YHS 71 of Arlington; and two sisters.
